4. Not everything your mind says to you is true.
Simply said. That bitch can’t be always trusted. (said
vaguely) As a person who is struggling with anxiety and overthinking in
general, it is so important to know that not every statement is truthful. You
can’t let these negative thoughts determinate your life. You can learn how to
recognize the false ones among the other ones. It won’t be always easy, and
your mind will most definitely play dirty tricks on you.
But what might
help you is to look at the situation from a larger perspective. You need to
realise that this is just you over-reacting and the reality might be completely
different. And what do I do when I feel like I’m starting to panic or my
anxiety is about to kick in? I concentrate on what is around me. It can seem silly,
but I start to breathe properly while studying ordinary objects around me. My
mind becomes occupied like that with something other than overthinking. Another
helpful thing is self-pep-talk. Motivate yourself. Create a positive
environment for your soul.
It is extremely
difficult to cover this topic in a few sentences because it is very complex and
there are so many ways to help you control your mind a little better. You just
need to keep searching for the one that will be your little helper.
Lastly, I want to include this video. It provides a powerful point of view on overthinking
