17. Mental health’s importance
I am ashamed
to put this one almost at the end but that doesn’t make it any less important.
There are two kinds of health as we all know – physical and mental. And the
connection between these two is very close. They are like siblings, they
influence each other, they help each other. But given certain circumstances,
they can destroy and tear each other apart. Being in a good shape physically is
great but if you have troubled mind, you can’t call yourself healthy. These two
literally walk hand in hand next to each other. Plenty of people have trouble
with their stomach, they start to sweat, their hair starts to fall and so on if
they are in a bad mental shape.
Mental health is so complex but so important! Don’t ever be ashamed to say that you have problem with something, let it be small or a big one. Communicate them with someone you trust. I understand there has always been a stigma surrounding this topic but I’m also saying today we are breaking down those walls. We are throwing that sigma to the bin. There’s no point of being ashamed because you are definitely not alone in this. It’s time to combat the stigma and talk. Talk and deal with what’s bothering our minds. The difference you’ll see will blow your mind.
One smart british guy on youtube once (actually more than once) talked about mental health and stigma surrounding it. Although it is on older video, it's a brilliant one so feel free to check it out: here
