Frozen flowers in a blizzard

She was an autumn
lighting up the space with colours.
He was a winter
bringing something that lasted more than hours.

They lived their separate life until one day
he already came. Why so soon?
He came to town, he came to villages.
The only one who watched was Moon.
He brought beautiful snowflakes
but terrible coldness.

In the morning,
she was still there
when he arrived.
Her beautiful red hair.
It stunned him
and made him want her.
Every other became a blur
in his eyes.

She wanted to see
what’s underneath the cold mask.
‘Can you stay?’
she asked in the dusk.
‘Will you? They never do, you know.’
he answered with a freezing blow.
It sent shivers down her spine
but she said yes.
‘I’ll be yours if you’ll be mine.’

They collided, and others could see,
they even stopped looking at the sea.
Beautiful, so beautiful to others.
Were these two expecting less
than a beautiful mess?

Autumn was fading away.
Her bright red hair was brown.
She wondered. ‘Should I stay?’
She still loved him.

Winter was growing colder and colder
day by day.
He wondered. ‘Should I still hold her?’
He still loved her.

She suddenly fell ill,
couldn’t take it anymore.
Needed a blanket, needed some warmth
in her life.
He knew he was at fault.
The feeling made him even colder.
He came too close to her vault.
Her precious heart was stopped by his cold.

‘How is this fair?’ he asked no one.
He was mad, he was furious.
Snow storm, hurricane, you name it.
Maybe he was just envious.

He left frozen flowers on her bed
with a note that said ‘thank you
take care. You have place in my heart.’
Although her hair wasn’t, her face became red.

Her heart recovered at last.
They saw each other next year.
But their romance passed.
Only glancing at each other.
They didn’t even greet.
Autumn leaves as soon
as Winter shows up on the street.
