Leprechauns, cloverleafs & pints of Guinness
Only this little amount of time showed me how incredible that place is. And how polite Irish people can be. So this article is pretty much gushing over the good time I had. (don't view it as bragging though)
The whole journey started by three-hours long train ride which took us to the capital of my country – Prague in the Czech Republic. We were so excited and ready for the big adventure. Then we spend many and many hours of eating, waiting and eating some more. But eventually the plane was ready for our eager asses.
Once we arrived to Dublin, my soul was so happy but also a tiny bit nervous. There was nothing but big crowds of people at the airport so the anxiously happy me couldn’t wait to get out of that building and explore the true beauty of Ireland.
The first day we didn’t get to see much since we were actually tired from the travel so we went to bed quite early. Still I was very pleasantly surprised by the fact that the sun sets kind of late there, so it seems like your day is longer because of the light.
After this the true exploring and creating great memories started.
We visited the local beach in Malahide which is where we were staying. (very beautiful city by the way). Let me tell you dogs really do love the sea and waves. And people like me enjoy collecting beautiful shells of various shape and colour on every step.
The next stop for us was a Howth, more specifically its Cliff walk. Witnessed very talented young fella busking by the pier. Enjoyed the walk to the beacon and even saw some seals in the distance. (At least I’ve been told they are seals. My short-sighted eyes which have a problem with recognizing objects in the distance saw some dark moving shapes in the water.) The cliff walk itself provided one of the most beautiful views you could possibly experience. The sea that is incredibly calming combined with the completely charming nature really got me. The wind couldn’t ruin that moment for me even though it was quite strong.
On the way back we stopped to quickly check out the Malahide castle. We took some pictures there and walked around it for a bit.
Phoenix park – oh man that is most definitely my favourite park in the world. The fallow deer were so friendly and not shy at all. They really enjoyed the human company in fact. (some more than others, true) Some more walking when we could somehow observe the nature and watch people just enjoying their day in that beautiful weather.
We got even told we were gorgeous by some local guys. (shout out to those beautiful strangers).
Next we visited the Ferris wheel in Malahide where we got the chance to see almost the whole city. We took some pictures at the beach, ate some food and suddenly it was evening again. The time really flies by when you have good time.
Another and another trip, this time to the centre of Dublin which seemed very unique and overall nice to walk through. We paid a visit to all those typical spots like Temple bar (which
my jacket matched to). Really got the concept of feeling Irish that time. Also
the people busking in the gorgeous streets of Dublin were so incredibly talented
I couldn’t comprehend their abilities to sing and play different kinds of instruments.
We also found the colourful umbrellas that created an unique style of the
street.
We also had to try the Guinness beer. Honestly I am a bigger fan of our Czech beer but the Guinness doesn’t taste bad at all. It’s just very different and kind of interesting flavour. My experience with it is that at first I really liked it, then I stopped and thought it was gross and in the end I started liking it again. So overall not the best beer but still quite tasty.
Next stop – The Wicklow mountains – yaayy! Seriously though let’s take a minute
or two to talk about the Irish nature because oh my goodness it is so breathtakingly
beautiful. We saw some local sheep and then really adored the view of the
Guinness lake. (and it really is so dark it seems almost pitch black). This
time we started a whole photoshoot to capture our pure joy from that location.
That is pretty much it from the trip to country that has won me over in just one week. If I ever get the chance I am coming back, Ireland! (Also I'm encouraging everyone to visit. It's 10/10.)
